PDP candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu yesterday described as inhuman the concentration of projects meant for Edo North in Iyamho, Etsako West LGA, the hometown of the outgoing governor and said that if elected he would ensure that all sections of Edo North and the state are equally treated.
Affirming that it was wicked that there was no functional health facility in the entire Etsako East Local Government Area, the PDP candidate lamented that the historical position of Agenebode had over time been eroded on account of lack of attention.
The PDP governorship candidate, spoke in Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area when he took his campaign train to the area. He said a community such as Agenebode that is situated on the bank of the River Niger ought to be a tourist centre and a rich commercial hub.
He regretted that the only tertiary institution in the Agenebode, the College of Agriculture, Agenebode, has been neglected and that the state government has not developed the college in about eight years.
He said the local government voted for Governor Oshiomhole and his party in 2007 and 2012 but got nothing in return from him, insisting that the state government has failed to make use of the agricultural potentials and the mineral resources in the council to develop it and create employment.
Also speaking, the PDP state chairman, Dan Orbih, regretted that Governor Oshiomhole’s Iyamho community had been the beneficiary of virtually all the projects undertaken in the Edo North area by the governor.
Defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) led by a former APC Ward 2 chairman in the council, Mr. John Odidi, were received into the PDP.
