Jenna Dewan has been getting ready for Channing Tatum's Splash remake for a lot longer than anyone noticed.
The actress posted a hilarious shot on Twitter earlier today showing her playing around with purple mermaid fins alongside the couple's daughter Everly for her throwback Thursday.
But at the time she initially posted the fun photo, it seems as though the actress was on the receiving end of some not very nice comments.
Dewan wrote, "That time I was trying on @ChanningTatum's costume for Splash and everyone thought I was announcing a pregnancy #tbt."
Earlier this week, multiple outlets reported that the Magic Mike star will be playing a mermaid opposite Jillian Bell in the upcoming Disney remake of the 1984 film.
The original film followed the story of a young man (Allen) who reunites with a mermaid that saved him from drowning as a boy. He ends up falling in love with her, not knowing who or what she is. However, in the remake, Tatum will play a male version of the mermaid and Bell will play a female version of Allen.
And while it's only in the early stages of development, we know Marja-Lewis Ryan has been called upon to write the script. Ron Howard and Brian Grazer—who directed and produced the original film—will produce along with Tatum, Reid Carolin and Peter Kieran.
