THE Chief Imam of the Uyo Central Mosque, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu, has urged the Federal Government to implement policies and programmes that will improve the prevailing hardship in the country.
Adamu, who addressed newsmen after the Eid-el-Fitri prayers, yesterday, in Uyo lamented the untold hardship the citizens are passing through due to the bad economy.
The Muslim leader who appreciated the policies and programmes of government so far, said that they must translate into better living condition for the citizenry.
“We all know all citizens irrespective of tribe, religion and are experiencing hardship and we have prayed to Almighty Allah to bring succour to all of us.
“The Federal Government should expedite action in reviving the nation’s economy because the citizens are going through very difficult times that must be addressed without further delay.”
Adamu called on Nigerians to continue to support the government in its efforts to sanitize the system and move the nation forward.
