For a second time since the budget padding scandal was revealed to the public, President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, held another private meeting with the speaker of the federal house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara, at the state house, Abuja.
According to Channels Television, political watchers say Friday’s visit may be in connection with the rift currently rocking the National Assembly and how to improve on the relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of government, following allegations of padding of the 2016 budget.
But the Speaker told reporters after the meeting that he just came to see the President and would not say anything to the press because he is on vacation.
Recall that this is the second time the speaker will be visiting the president after his August 5 meeting after Abdulmumin Jibrin, a member of the house, levelled allegations of corruption against the leadership of the lower chamber.
