Steven Gerrard has congratulated his former team-mate Luis Suarez after the Barcelona star was presented with the Golden Shoe after scoring 40 La Liga goals last season.
The striker picked up the award for the second time in his career, having also won it during his time at Anfield in 2013/14 when he finished level with Cristiano Ronaldo.
Gerrard and Suarez played together for three years at Anfield, narrowly missing out on the Premier League title in 2014 before Suarez moved to Barcelona.
And Gerrard hailed the Barca forward on Instagram, writing: “The best number 9 on the planet #mymate.”
